# What do the Sample Statuses mean?

The status of a water test indicates the current stage of the sample, from submission through to the laboratory result.

- **In Transit** – The sample has been submitted and is currently being sent to the laboratory. It has **not yet been received by the laboratory** for testing.

- **Testing** – The sample has been **received by the laboratory and is currently being analysed**. The final test result is not yet available.

- **Passed** – The laboratory testing is complete and the sample has **met the required water quality criteria**.

- **Failed** – The laboratory testing is complete and the sample has **not met the required water quality criteria**. Further recommendations and actionable conclusions are available within the report.

- **Completed** – Used for **Commercial Quality Tests only**. The test has been completed and the results are available, but this test does **not receive a Pass or Fail status**.

**Status Flow**

In Transit → Testing → Passed / Failed

**For Commercial Quality Tests**

In Transit → Testing → Completed
